Hi Bob,

The answer I got to an Echo T/O Chart question was incorrect but I can't seem to work out why it's wrong. I took a lot of care with my lines etc and entry arguments.

I've attached a copy of the question and my working. Hopefully you can see my lines ok.

I'd appreciate your thoughts as to where I may have gone wrong?

I'm also getting the same answer. Runway 09 with 20kt headwind gives 2900 kg MTOW, Runway 18/36 (with 20kt crosswind) also give me 2900kg...

Thanks mate.

So your lines look pretty much same as mine?

Yeah almost identical. Unsure if we're missing something but I keep getting 2900

Yeah ok sweet.

I'm revising all the topics. My exam is on the 10th Dec.

Glad you asked for clarification about that variable fuel reserve. I overlooked that note.

Perhaps we need to ring CASA?

Mine is next week haha! I'm pretty sure Alternate isn't included, they've changed the definition to Trip Fuel instead of Flight fuel so that makes a difference. I'll call them in the next few days if I can't get it clarified.

Good luck for the 10th!

Good luck for next week mate! Keen to hear how it goes. Yeah I would have overlooked that. Yikes!! Let me know what CASA say if you call them.

Thanks mate!

Perhaps you good folks need to redo the chart for the 900m case again ? Suggest you scan your chart and post it for comment.

hmmm ... perhaps my earlier eyeball run around the carpets might have been a tad casual.

This time I have done what I should have done first off ... run the lines in a graphics package to minimise errors. Indeed, it looks like both options result in a weight around 2900 kg.

Apologies for my cavalier carelessness first time around ...

Appears that the answer in the question might be a little off the mark, perhaps ?
