Hi all,

Just a question regarding Flights over water (single engine vfr charter). AIP 1.1 61.2 (AIP -100) states that the distance between emergency landing sites must be no more than 25 NM. A question I have done in a practice exam gives the distance as 50 NM. Can anyone tell me which one is correct?

Many thanks

The AIP says no more than 25nm from a land mass suitable for a forced landing. So if you did a flight of 50nm over water, say from the mainland to an island, you would comply with that requirement since you would never be more than 25nm from land.
