Well, it's done at last. All ten textbooks are now converted and ready to go. I can proudly say that we will be offering subscriptions to the E-Text versions of all textbooks from August 1st.

What is an E-Text?
An E-Text is an electronic version of the very latest edition of the textbook. It is read online using any of the usual web-browsers and you can use it anywhere or anytime you have access to an internet connection and a browser that can display Flash content (via the Flash plugin which is pretty much standard nowadays). There's even a simplified version available for users of mobile devices (see below).
What do I get?
Latest version of the textbook and the textbook will be updated as necessary.
Full Text Search: simply type in a search term and all instances will be listed and highlighted in the textbook for you.
Bookmarking: you can save a list of bookmarks to pages in the book you found particularly important. You can then use these either as a guide for final revision or simply as a quick reference while you study.
Detailed Table of Contents: Most titles have had their table of contents enhanced to help with better navigation online.
Mobile Version: Users of mobile devices (e.g. tablet computers and theoretically even smartphones) can make use of a simplified version of the E-Text reader to access their texts even while they are on the go.
6 months Access: Your subscription entitles you to 6 months access to the online textbook
What do I need?
Flash Player: 10.0 or later
Operating System: Any operating system with a supported browser and a Flash Player
RAM 512 MB or more
Network Internet connection
CPU Single Core CPU 2.0 GHz, or Dual Core CPU 1.5 GHz or higher
Display 1024x768 or higher
A Note to users of Mobile Devices:
Automatically included with your subscription is access to a version of the E-Text viewable on most mobile devices. If you plan to use the E-Text primarily on your mobile device, we recommended you check out the
demonstration textbook
before purchase.
How much does it cost?
The E-Texts were designed to be an additional, convenient way to access your textbook as you study in the run-up to your exam. When you purchase your textbook you can order your 6 months access to the E-Text for as little as $25 (depending on the title).
You can also buy the E-Texts separately if you do not wish to have a printed textbook.
The actual prices will vary with title and will be finalised in the next week or so when they appear in the
online store
.
OK, where do I get one?
We will be selling subscriptions to the E-Texts in the
online store
from the 1st August. You should also be able to order E-Texts from your local Pilot Supply Store so contact them for pricing information and availability.
When you place your order you simply need to supply your details and your requested start date for the subscription and once we've processed it, you'll be good to go.
If you have any questions, please feel free to post here or give Lee a call at the school. Remember, if you haven't already, be sure to check out the demonstration E-Text at
