Hi guys, I have a question in regards to spiral dive recovery. I had this question in one of my exam preps and I'm a little confused, so any help would be appreciated thanks.
It is my understanding to apply full rudder in the opposite direction of the spin that would recover the aeroplane and not touch the ailerons?
Q) Which is the most appropriate recovery action if an aircraft is allowed to enter a spiral dive?
A) Since the yaw is causing the roll and the roll is causing the yaw, if you stop one you will stop the other. The easiest one to stop is the roll. This can be done simply by rolling out of the bank until the wings are level. No more spiral dive!
The correct answer is: apply opposite aileron to level the wings
