Great, aviation as a whole. It's amazing how many smart people can create airports, landmarks, and airplanes in simulations with great precision. It's surprising how many of you know so much about airplanes, proper procedures, etc.

But it's frustrating that I can't figure out how they got so smart with their simulation/aircraft/aviation knowledge.

I want to be there, but I don't know where to start or how long it will take before I become as knowledgeable as half of you are now.

I'm strongly considering purchasing one of the FS Academies, possibly a VFR. Do you have any feedback on this? Or are there good YouTube channels to train beginners?

I also just watched this video on how to do some testing on the Sukhoi-57 with "Amazing". I highly recommend you check this one out.

I see you are in the US. A good place to start would be to contact a local airline sim centre and seek to talk with the sim techs.

the FAA puts out lots of publications, ie the Aeronautical handbook often for free. www.faa.gov/regulations_policies/handboo...on/airplane_handbook
It is a good introduction to operational procedures, technique, terminology, etc.
Most countries are similar but have their own little differences to watch out for.
