Hi I'll, I'm new to the forum. I'm a PPL working through Bob's book doing the IREX. Fun!
I'm trying to work out what a "CASA-approved met observer" is. eg for determing actual QNH for minima etc; eg when setting QNH prior to TO if needing to return to land and looking at taking the 100' off approach minima if actual QNH is available. CAR 120 doesn't define it. I thought a pilot fits the bill when determining things like RVR, but I don't seem to be able to find a definition. Any ideas?
Thanks, Dave
Approved Observers are officers of the BoM, Air Traffic Controllers, and other persons on the ground approved for the purpose by the BoM and/or the CASA.
