I know this discussion is 6 years old but it looks like the question (Q7 of Set 4) hasn't changed, although in my book, (d) is given as the correct answer.
The question asks, what is the point at which you may commence descent from 4000 feet. Why can't you commence descent after having passed BLSZA and established on 288M? (i.e. answer (c))?
I know that wouldn't set you up for a 3 degree approach as you intended, but the question isn't asking "when should you start descent in order to be on the 3 degree slope"; it's asking "when
may you commence descent" (my emphasis). In other words, when are you allowed to commence descent.
I realise I sound pedantic when I'm asking this, but everything I've read & heard about the IREX is that you have to read the wording of the questions very carefully, and answer what they are actually asking, not what you want them to be asking. So I'm just trying to follow that advice!
Thanks
