onto IREX now, looking at the BT book quiz 2.1 Questions 2 and 3 of the IREX book, and with regard to such questions about type of op and IFR radionavigation equiptment having a look at the AIP there is a Section under GEN 1.5 para 2.1 and another in para 2.2 when do we use which paragraph confused over this because they seem to overlap and no explicitly say if we can choose either section.

Thanks guys.

The equipment required depends on the category of operation you intend to do. In an exam, the question will specify whether it's RPT, CHTR, AWK or PVT.

Hi Bob, what I meant was there are 2 tables para 2.1 and para 2.2 which cover the same categories of operation but have different equiptment requirements see page GEN 1.5-5 with comparison to GEN 1.5-8.

i have attached two photos for ease of what im talking about.

Para 2.1 lists the radio navigation aids required for aircraft using RNAV/GNSS, while para 2.2 lists the radio navigation aids required for aircraft intending to fly a route segment or an approach using only ground-based aids
