Hi Bob,

Page 217 of the E-Book rev Ex 3.2

I see you answered C for the answer but wrote the D answer in the explaination (is this a mistake?)

Question No 30 AIP ENR 1.10 para 1.2.2 (ATC AU-508 9)
An IFR air transport flight departs Alpha for Bravo without a TAF for Bravo. The pilot intends to obtain a TAF
from Air Traffic Service after take-off. If the flight planned time interval from Alpha to Bravo is 50 minutes, the
minimum fuel required at take-off for this flight would be closest to-
[a] 103 minutes
95 minutes
[c] 123 minutes
[d] 111 minutes

30
[c]
You may depart without a forecast providing you are convinced that
you could return within one hour and obtain a forecast within 30
minutes of departure. If you may have to return after one hour, you
cannot leave unless you have enough fuel to do so! You will need 60
minutes worth of flight fuel even though the flight is only 50 minutes.
Minimum fuel required at take-off = 60 x 1.1 + 45 = 111 minutes.

Thanks for your feed-back. It looks like the question has been amended at some stage and the answer was not changed to (d). The explanation is correct, it's just the answer identifier should have been (d). That has been changed in the book. Thanks again.
