Hi All,

Assuming someone has completed the IREX exam, is there a route to upgrade a PIFR to a full IR? And is there a route to upgrade a SE-IR to a ME-IR? Obviously would need to do the relevant flight test, but would there be RPL???

I'm toying with idea of doing a PIFR and being able to upgrade it if required would itself be a drawcard.

Thanks.

That is a pathway, but it is also the most expensive way to do it.
The cheapest method is to do the MECIR with all the trimmings and get your examiner to add the PIFR to this when you do the flight test. This will give you the 2 years with night and all aids on your PIFR.

Thanks a lot. Appreciate your time to respond.

Will crack on studying IREX for now and then make choice. Good idea about adding on PIFR to MECIR at same time.
