Hi to the team at Bob Tait's Aviation Theory School and fellow life long student's.
Craig here from south of the border, I'm sure you won't hold that against me, as Newcastle is one of the best places on the planet. I am a member of Royal Newcastle Aero Club and have held a PPL since 2003. It is now time to move on to CPL as I'm getting on(45 years). I believe being a fan of aviation awards you the right to constantly learn and improve on your last performance. Why have I joined this forum? Simple, studying from home requires motivation, time management and accountability. So I am now accountable to you all which will give me the motivation to be on top of my time management and complete all seven theory subjects of the CPL.
Welcome aboard mate, glad to see you here. You are right, studying from home does take a lot work and motivation but that's what these forums are here for. Sometimes though it's enough to know that there are others in the same boat as you are.
We're all happy to help - even if it's just to crack the whip a bit
I love your attitude! It isn't easy doing home study and it certainly does help to know that you are part of an unseen comunity of students who are doing the same thing. I'm sure you will find the forum helpful and please don't hesitate to use it to keep us informed of your progress.
Good on you mate, I'm 36 and I get the whole your too old thing, but I am ignoring it too and creating my own destiny, even the Military employ pilots up to retirement age less 11 years for the "service payoff period"
I have joined the forum for the same reason. Well done.
I have nearly finished the Aerodynamics course, and getting ready to site the exam and re-read the course. I love the challenge and Bob is like a Dad to me now! He really is a great teacher and can put up with all the political correctness relating to the administration of aviation whilst getting on with it..
