Hi everybody, hope everyone is doing well..
Just pop in for one clarification in regards to the subject above..
The Polar jet stream is normally found associated with?
A) polar zones in winder
polar warm front
C) polar zones in summer
D) polar cold front
E) polar tropopause
I have two answer, D and E but I'm confuse..but my answer is D..
The answer I would consider correct is (e). The polar jet stream is the result of the difference in height of the tropopause in the mid-latitude cell and the polar cell. This produces a significant pressure differential between the two cells at those levels. The resulting outflow from the mid-latitude cell to the polar cell, combined with the Coriolis effect due to the earth's rotation produces very strong westerly winds in that latitude band.
