ROC question

Hi, I recently got one of these questions wrong in my KDR and was just after a little clarification. Ok so I know that if you want to remain out of control area you can fly just at the step, so 6000 for example you could fly at. If you wanted to remain in controlled area, you would fly at 6500 to remain 500ft above.

However I had a question in the exam that asked what ROC you would need to fly over a restricted area, and I wasn’t sure whether this would mean you’d need a 500ft/1000ft/no clearance? over this height, as id never seen this question type before. In the exam I think I used 500ft above and am fairly sure I got it wrong as the other ROC question I got was normal. May have also made a stupid mistake though. What clearance to fly over a restricted area is required?

Question was something like you are at 2500 and want to fly over a restricted area that goes from surface level to 9000 feet, what ROC is required? Thanks so much in advance

Ah ok that’s good to know. A shame I used 500 above in the exam but at least I’ll know for next time. Unfortunately our school uses jeppesen instead of AIP so I could not for the life of me find that information in the exam, has made CASA exams more annoying than they need to be heheh. Thanks so much again, fingers crossed I get this question again

CASA will always give preference to the local products. If you use Jepp, as an alternative, that's fine. Whichever you choose, for the exams you need to know the package backwards, upside down and, of course, forwards ....

If you were at 2500 assuming flying West bound and Restricted area goes from SFC to 9000, I would assume you would want to climb to first even cruising level above RA. You can't fly at 10500 which is transition layer.
Depending on qnh (hopefully given) you would fly at fl125 or fl145.
I would also expect distance from Restricted area was given too.
