ELT created the topic: Armidale WAC pdf link?

Hi all, I am new to the forum and online school.
I am using the NAV e-text. On page 113 there are exercises for 1 in 60’s and it says the Armidale WAC pdf is available to download on the navigation errata home page. When I go there I can’t find such link but only a list of document references. See attached screenshot of my page.
Hoping someone could shed some light as I would like to complete the exercises.
Many thanks,
Erin

It is requirement to bring paper charts on the exam, unfortunately not Armidale.

I believe you'd agree it would be difficult to use ruler, pencil, protractor on the screen, therefore not much of use in ebooks.

Armidale Wac is in the paper book, try printing this photo and see if that works for you.

Hi Bosi, thanks very much for your help but I don’t think a photo will be quite as accurate as what is required for the 1 in 60 exercises. Much appreciated anyway.

So I’m guessing you have also looked at the nav errata page and were unable to find the mysterious link too?

I don’t think a photo will be quite as accurate as what is required for the 1 in 60 exercises.

Keep in mind that the 1:60 stuff is pretty much a rough and ready approximate calculation to the mathematically correct information. It appears that you might have assigned far too much perceived accuracy to the technique ? 1:60 works fine for practical navigation calculations but it still remains an approximation to reality.

What Bosi was suggesting is that it is a bit difficult to measure stuff on the screen compared to using the paper map (although you can do it with some care).

Yes, it is difficult to measure stuff on the screen. Hence why there is a link to print the WAC. See screenshot of the E-text that provides instructions for printing the WAC.

Either I can’t find it, or it doesn’t exist anymore.

As a student, I am just trying to work methodically through the textbook and complete all the exercises. So it seems if you purchase the E-Text you will also need to purchase the Armidale WAC to be able to complete this particular exercise.

G'day ELT

I have replaced the link in the errata page. www.bobtait.com.au/updates-and-errata/21-cpl-navigation-errata

Don't know what happened to it, but around here lately I'm amazed there's not more of such things.
