Wong

The centre of gravity range is simply the difference between the forward and aft limits for the centre of gravity for that weight.

Forward limit = 2785 - 2360 x .27 + 2400 = 2515 mm
Aft limit = 2680 for all weights.

Centre of gravity range = 2680 - 2515 = 165 mm

No point making a new thread.

But thought i'd let you all know! I sat the performance exam this morning and passed it, with 84%, expected a bit higher, but hey im still pretty happy with it!

Thanks to Richard, Brentonrule and Bob for your help!

Only human factors left which is booked in middle of June!

Cheers guys!

Hi Wong. Please see my post on this subject. I too had the same experience in calculating the RANGE... Easy to miss.

Well done - 84% is a good mark. I am sitting the exma Monday and doing some final revision. This certainly one of the most complex subjects in the curriculum. IREX was tough but this one is right up there....

Thanks Brenton!

Its probably the toughest exam I have undertaken the during my CPL studies.

I think i got about 30 or 33 questions in the whole exam! There are questions that range from being either 1 mark, 2 marks or 3 marks. Obviously the 3 mark questions are dealing with aircraft ECHO and if you have gone through Bob Tait's performance book, there should be no surprises.

I got a question quite similar to Review Question SET 2, question 4 in the exam. I was so thankful i flagged that question because it is a tad tricky.

Then you had the usual question from each aircraft about weight and balance, quite simple. I only had a couple of take-off and landing distance questions. Then also a few PNR and ETP questions.

You will be quite surprised how fast time goes in this exam.

Good luck Brenton, you will be fine!
