Hi, question 50 on Open Exam 3 is causing me confusion. I think the answer is closest to (d) but the correct answer is (b). Are you sure this is correct.
Refer VFR (Day) Booklet TOW chart Page 6.
Given the following details:
Runway = 08/26
Take-off distance available = 900 metres Surface = long dry grass
Slope = level
Pressure Height = 5000 ft
Wind = 080oM/20 kt
Temperature = +25 Deg C
The heaviest take-off weight permitted under the conditions given is closest to -
Choose one answer.
(a) 970 kg
(b) 1000 kg
(c) 1080 kg
(d) 1030 kg

I think you will find that in this case, the take-off is climb weight limited. 1030 is correct if you ignore that, but 1000 is correct if you consider the climb weight limit.
