Could anyone help me clarify this
Abstract from CAR:
an aircraft that is flying or operating for the purpose of, or in
the course of:
(i) the personal transportation of the owner of the aircraft;
(iii) agricultural operations on land owned and occupied by the owner of the aircraft;
shall be taken to be employed in private operations.
dose this mean, if im the owner of an ac, and i PAY a pilot to fly me. it is still private op?
and if i own an ac and a farm, and i PAY a pilot to crop-dust it is still private?

That's a good question. My interpretation would be that the purpose of the regulation is to protect the 'general public'. There are many examples of business people who buy an aircraft and pay a pilot to fly them to and from business meetings. I'm sure that would be considered a private operation as long as the general public is not involved.
That's because no money changed hands for the actual operation of the aircraft.
The same would apply to a property owner paying a pilot to spray his/her crops, providing the aircraft is owned and operated by the property owner.
