Hey all apologies for the performance question.

I recently did the online mock exam and there was 2 questions that kinda made me confused.

Question 1

Pressure Alt: 2500
Shade temp: 10 C
Weight : 1080 kg
Surface : short dry grass
Runway 09/27
Slope : 1% slope down to the west
Wind: 090/10
Find the landing distance
The answer I found was 440 but the actual answer is 450 but when I look at the demonstration after getting the questions wrong it’s not even 450 at all

Question 2

Pressure Alt: 1500
Shade temp: 15 C
Surface short dry grass
Runway 18 (TODA 650m)
Slope : Level
Wind: 180 m at 10KT
The maximum landing weight permitted closest to.

I did the lines and the weight I found just above 1050 and typed 1060 kg but the demonstration was 1050. I’m quite confused because I’m trying to get ready for my RPL and performance is the only question I still struggle with. I hope I did not break any rules by mentioning mock exam.

Kind regards

Hi Barkin,

Re Question No 1 I assume the normal landing chart not linear?? I get close to 440 meters as well. Can you pm me a screen shot??

Re Question No 2. Is this a take off or landing question, as the only landing weight limitation is a climb weight limitation which only affects high altitude airports above 4,000ft.

Cheers

Hi Wayne,

Apologies for the late reply. I was working and could not respond to your message. Question 1 is a Landing weight chart Figure 6 and And Question 2 is a take off weight chart figure 3. I'll private message you the question and the answer from the practice exam.

Hi barkin,

Thanks for clarifying the graph. I get a similar answer to you for Question no 2. I'll check with the office when they open.

To help you prepare for the exam, we offer different types of practice, including practice questions and a mock exam, with our Learning Ecosystem.Mock tests are exams that are prepared on human benchmark guidelines same as real exams. These follow the same pattern, set of questions, difficulty level, and also time limits. And just because these mimic the real exam, these are called “Mock” tests The most common full form of “Mock Test” is the “Multiple Order Checklist Test.” It is a copy or simulation of a real test that is used for practice or evaluation. It is a way for individuals to familiarize themselves with the format, structure, and type of questions that are likely to appear in a real test.
